Enhanced Locational Information (ELI)
In June 2024, AEMO published the first Enhanced Locational Information (ELI) report in response to the ESB’s review into transmission access reform. The ELI report provides a consolidated set of locational information to inform decisions about where to locate projects in the NEM.
The first ELI report draws on existing sources of locational information. The report incorporates data from publications of AEMO, governments, and industry to provide a more complete picture of the locational characteristics of the power system.
In parallel, AEMO is working with TNSPs through joint planning arrangements to improve the consistency and usefulness of locational information in Transmission Annual Planning Reports.
