The Heywood - Mortlake PS 500kV Line in the Victoria (VIC) region is planned to be out of service as follows:

From 0800 hrs to 1500 hrs on 14/05/2022.

A credible contingency event during this planned outage could cause synchronous separation of the South Australia (SA) region from the rest of the NEM.

During this planned outage:
- Power transfer will be restricted across the VIC - SA interconnector (Heywood interconnector).
- Post contingent FCAS will be sourced within SA following Separation event.

The following constraints are invoked:
V-HYMO
I-VS_050
S-X_BC_CP

Refer AEMO Network Outage Schedule (NOS) for further details.

Update: Possible intervention to manage power system security in South Australia (SA) Region

AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

Update: Possible intervention to manage power system security in South Australia (SA) Region

Refer AEMO Electricity Market Notice 96296

The synchronous generating units currently expected to be synchronised in SA from 0000 hrs 14/05/2022 will be inadequate to maintain a secure operating state in SA.

AEMO estimates that, in the absence of sufficient market response by 1700 hrs 13/05/2022, AEMO may need to intervene by issuing a direction requiring one or more SA synchronous generating unit(s) to operate or remain synchronised to maintain power system security in SA.
