Network and Frequency Control Ancillary Service constraints in the NEM overview

With reduced restrictions around the country, a selected number of AEMO instructor-led courses will be scheduled for in-person delivery. These will remain subject to any change to restriction levels, and participants will need to comply with all government requirements in order to attend.

Course content:
  • Network and Frequency Control Ancillary Service (FCAS) constraints.
  • The network characteristics that determine constraints.
  • How constraints are derived and formulated.
  • The effect constraints have on dispatch outcomes.
  • Where to find out more about how particular constraints affect your organisation.
Learning outcomes:

Attendees of the course will gain a working-level understanding of constraints and their impact on the NEM.
