About the NEM Reform Delivery Committee

Reflecting the milestone that reforms such as the ESB Post-2025 market design were moving into the implementation phase, the market bodies Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) with the support of the Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) and the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) have established a strategic group of representatives from across the energy sector, the NEM Reform Delivery Committee (the Committee) in November 2021, to facilitate deep and effective collaboration across industry and navigate reforms over the coming years.

A key objective for the RDC is to work with industry to develop and maintain the “NEM Reform Implementation Roadmap that appropriately prioritises and sequences reform implementation considering interdependencies with a least-cost whole-of-system intent – ultimately for the benefit of the consumer.

Reform Delivery Committee participation

Operating under the principles of representation, the Committee consists of nominees from National Energy Market (NEM) participants, consumer representatives and representatives of the renewable energy, demand management and energy efficiency industries.
