Forums

Implementation of WA Reform Program will make use of forums as a channel of engagement, for consultation as needed, and to ensure Participants awareness of upcoming changes.

Major Projects Working Group

The Major Projects Working Group (MPWG) seeks to increase transparency around AEMO’s implementation of WEM-related changes and projects and to find opportunities to reduce implementation costs, delivery impacts, and risks via coordination and sequencing. The MPWG does this by considering and responding to two key artefacts – the WEM Implementation Roadmap (which provides sequencing, budget and other information on all WEM-specific initiatives) and Implementation Assessments (which summarise impacts on systems, processes and other implementation consideration for new initiatives). The MPWG membership consist of representatives from Rule Participants, Energy Policy WA, consumer representatives and other relevant organisations.

WA Reform Implementation Group (WRIG)

The WA Reform Implementation Group (WRIG) provides overviews of upcoming changes to be delivered by AEMO’s WA Reform Program, and practical changes to processes and systems that participants should prepare for. WRIG meetings are convened as required and typically address changes that are between 1 and 6 months from being deployed or completed, whereas the MPWG outlines changes earlier in their lifecycle. The audience for meetings may include Rule Participants trading and operational teams, Economic Regulation Authority (ERA), and Energy Policy WA (EPWA).

Industry Testing Forum

The Industry Testing Forum (ITF) provides technical information and consults on upcoming changes to IT systems and interfaces (typically between 1 and 6 months from being deployed or completed). The forum provides opportunities for IT professionals to raise questions or concerns. The audience may include Rule Participants’ IT teams

WA Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Market Participation Forum

The WA Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Market Participation Forum plays a central role in enabling stakeholder engagement and knowledge sharing of the work relating to DER / CER integration in the WEM and SWIS.

AEMO Procedure Change Working Group

The Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) AEMO Procedure Change Working Group (APCWG) was established by the Market Advisory Committee (MAC) in June 2017.

The purpose of the APCWG is to assist the MAC in fulfilling its obligation under clause 2.3.1(b) of the Market Rules to provide advice to AEMO (including in its capacity as System Management) on Procedure Change Proposals.
