MarketWA Meetings

Distributed and Consumer Energy Resources (DER and CER, respectively) are having an increasingly influential in the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM), requiring AEMO to develop and implement new tools and capabilities to continue to manage the South West Interconnected System (SWIS) and WEM efficiently.

AEMO’s WA DER Market Participation Forum will play a central role in enabling stakeholder engagement and knowledge sharing of the work being undertaken by AEMO to build a more resilient SWIS and WEM through the efficient integration of these resources.

AEMO will use this forum for consultation and sharing with current and prospective market participants, and other stakeholders impacted by CER integration such as installers and manufacturers of CER equipment. The main objective is to increase an understanding of the actions AEMO sees as necessary, and to seek stakeholder perspectives on solutions to resolve CER related challenges.

Stakeholders are also able to share relevant information through this forum, providing stakeholders with the opportunity to raise, and discuss relevant issues relating to CER integration in the WEM and SWIS. AEMO’s view is that these engagements should seek to develop a smoother integration into market frameworks over time.

Members

The AEMO WA DER Market Participation Forum is public and meetings are accessible to interested stakeholders directly involved with, or impacted by, CER integration and coordination in the WEM.
