ARENA DEIP Dive: EV and Market Integration Event (26th July 2023)
On July 26th 2023, the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), on behalf of the Distributed Energy Integration Program (DEIP), brought over 160 people together in Sydney to explore DER integration Australia’s energy system. The annual DEIP Dive is an opportunity for representatives across the energy sector to come together to share their latest insights and discuss solve emerging challenges of an increasingly distributed electricity system.
Project EDGE was invited to speak at the DER Market Integration Stream and delved into the Consumer Insights Study ad the role of Retailers and Aggregators in the calling of advanced VPPs and DER/CER market integration. This event provided a forum to share the latest developments from DER market integration trials investigating how DER can operate and deliver services in energy markets.
Project EDGE - 9th International Conference for Integration of Renewables and Distributed Resources (24th October 2022)
On 24th October 2022, Project EDGE presented to the 9th International Conference for Integration of Renewable and Distributed Energy Resources. This presentation provided an overview of the Australian market and the project, the learnings and insights to date and research questions that aim to answer key questions across industry. Specifically, the Project walked through the Wholesale Market services and and the roles and responsibilities of each of the actors within the DER Marketplace. These steps include wholesale integration capability, local network services requirements, operation within Dynamic Operating Envelopes (DOEs) and how to efficiently exchange data at scale.
Project EDGE - The Association of Power Exchanges Annual International Conference (20th October 2022)
On October 20th 2022, Project EDGE was invited to speak at the Association of Power Exchanges Annual conference. In cooperation with CROPEX (the Croatian Power Exchange Ltd), the APEx Conference gathered around 90 representatives from different electricity exchanges and market operations from across the world. This presentation provided an overview of the Australian market and the project, the learnings and insights to date and research questions that aim to answer key questions across industry.
ARENA DEIP Dive: EV and DER Market Integration Event (12 September 2022)
On 12 September 2022, the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and the Australian National University (ANU), on behalf of the Distributed Energy Integration Program (DEIP), brought over 130 people together in Canberra to explore DER integration Australia’s energy system. The Distributed Energy Integration Program (DEIP) is a collaborative forum of government agencies, market authorities, peak industry bodies and consumer associations working together to maximise the value of distributed energy resources (DER) for all energy users.
Project EDGE was invited to speak at the DER Market Integration Stream and delved into the integration of DER to provide wholesale services and local network support using Project EDGE’s local services exchange. This event provided a forum to share the latest developments from DER market integration trials investigating how DER can operate and deliver services in energy markets.
Project Edge - Energy Systems Integration Group Webinar (30th March 2022)
On 30th March 2022, Project EDGE presented to the Energy Systems Integration Group (ESIG). This presentation provided an overview of the project, learnings to date and research questions that aim to answer key questions across industry on the customer needs, alignment to the National Electricity Objectives, wholesale integration capability, local network services requirements, operation within Dynamic Operating Envelopes (DOEs), how to efficiently exchange data at scale, and the roles and responsibilities of each of the actors within the DER Marketplace.

In October 2021, AEMO and AusNet Services provided a joint presentation to the Melbourne Energy Institute on the benefits and challenges associated with the implementation of operating envelopes as being tested in Project EDGE.
