Overview

AEMO’s annual budget reflects the anticipated costs of the functions and services we provide in operating and transforming Australia’s energy markets and systems, and running a contemporaneous organisation. These costs form the basis of AEMO’s revenue requirements, which are recovered through fees and charges paid by energy market participants.

Although there is no regulatory requirement for AEMO to do this, we engage with stakeholders on our draft budget as we consider it essential to demonstrate transparency and accountability.

The draft FY25 budget and fees have now been published, and stakeholders will have until 26 April 2024 to make a submission. You can make a submission on the draft FY25 budget by emailing stakeholderrelations@aemo.com.au. Submissions will be published as per AEMO’s Consultation Submissions Guidelines.
