Paul Zennaro

Paul Zennaro is the acting executive general manager of AEMO’s Government & Stakeholder division. In this role Paul leads the team responsible for engagement with AEMO employees, media, industry, consumer and government stakeholders.

Paul joined AEMO in September 2020, bringing two decades’ experience in energy and infrastructure. Starting his career as a political speech writer, Paul went on to spend 13 years with Shell Australia. During this time he was as a member of Royal Dutch Shell's global media leadership team, and managed the public narrative and joint venture alignment for more than seventy billion dollars of portfolio activity across Australia and New Zealand.

Paul led the corporate affairs function during AEMO’s suspension of the national electricity market in June 2022. Under intense media and stakeholder attention, AEMO was able to enhance its reputation as both a market operator and independent adviser to industry and governments.
