AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

AEMO considers that there is a suspect Forecast LOR2 condition for the QLD region for the following period[s]:

[1.] From 1830 hrs 13/02/2025 to 1930 hrs 13/02/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 639 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 480 MW.

AEMO is currently investigating this LOR2 forecast condition to confirm whether they are valid.

Forecast Minimum System Load (MSL1) condition in the VIC region on 16/02/2025

AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

Update to Market Notice 124467 - AEMO has detected that there is an elevated risk of insufficient demand to maintain a secure operating state in the VIC region on 16/02/2025.

Minimum System Load (MSL) conditions are forecast when regional demand is less than the relevant MSL threshold. The advisory MSL thresholds are:
o MSL1 - 2115 MW
o MSL2 - 1615 MW
o MSL3 - 1115 MW

The regional demand is forecast to be below the MSL1 threshold for the following period:
From 1230 hrs to 1430 hrs 16/02/2025. Minimum regional demand is forecast to be 2012 MW at 1330 hrs.

AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

Update to Market Notice 124437 - AEMO has detected that there is an elevated risk of insufficient demand to maintain a secure operating state in the VIC region on 16/02/2025.

Minimum System Load (MSL) conditions are forecast when regional demand is less than the relevant MSL threshold. The advisory MSL thresholds are:
o MSL1 - 2115 MW
o MSL2 - 1615 MW
o MSL3 - 1115 MW

The regional demand is forecast to be below the MSL1 threshold for the following period:
From 1200 hrs to 1500 hrs 16/02/2025. Minimum regional demand is forecast to be 1873 MW at 1330 hrs.

Update - Non-credible contingency event - NSW region - 23/01/2025

Refer AEMO Electricity Market Notice 123615

At 0240 hrs on the 23/01/2025 there was a trip and auto reclose of the Kempsey - Macksville 9W5 and the Kempsey - Raleigh 9W2 132kV Lines

The cause of this non-credible contingency event has been identified and AEMO is satisfied that another occurrence of this event is unlikely under the current circumstances.

AEMO will not reclassify this event as a credible contingency event.

From 1600 hrs to 1930 hrs 07/02/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1092 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 574 MW.

AEMO is seeking a market response.

AEMO has not yet estimated the latest time it would need to intervene through an AEMO intervention event.
