Actual Lack Of Reserve Level 1 (LOR1) in the NSW region - 04/02/2025

An Actual LOR1 condition has been declared under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the NSW region from 1730 hrs.
The Actual LOR1 condition is forecast to exist until 1800 hrs

The capacity reserve requirement is 1370 MW
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1161 MW

The Forecast LOR1 condition in the NSW region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 124119 has been updated at 1715 hrs 04/02/2025 to the following:

The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1639 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1108 MW.

Inter-regional transfer limit variation - Collector WF to Marulan No. 4 330 kV Line - NSW region - 04/02/2025

A planned outage of Collector WF to Marulan No. 4 330 kV Line in the NSW region was scheduled from 0600 hrs 02/02/2025 to 1600 hrs 19/02/2025.

The outage has been completed and Collector WF to Marulan No. 4 330 kV Line returned to service at 1710 hrs 04/02/2025

The Forecast LOR1 condition in the NSW region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 124091 has been updated at 1620 hrs 04/02/2025 to the following:

[1.] From 1630 hrs 04/02/2025 to 1730 hrs 04/02/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1699 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 978 MW.

[2.] From 1830 hrs 04/02/2025 to 2000 hrs 04/02/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1649 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 947 MW.

Direction - SA region 04/02/2025

In accordance with section 116 of the National Electricity Law, AEMO has issued a direction to a participant in the SA region. For the purposes of the National Electricity Rules this is a direction under clause 4.8.9(a1)(1).

The issue of the direction commences an AEMO intervention event. AEMO declares all trading intervals during the event to be intervention trading intervals, commencing from the interval ending 1545 hrs on 04/02/2025.

Intervention pricing does not apply to this AEMO intervention event.

AEMO may issue or revoke additional directions in order to meet the current requirement, unless sufficient market response is provided. A further market notice will be issued when all directions related to this requirement have been cancelled.

In accordance with section 116 of the National Electricity Law, AEMO is issuing a direction to AGL SA Generation Pty Limited. For the purposes of the National Electricity Rules this is a direction under clause 4.8.9(a1)(1).

Direction issued to: AGL SA Generation Pty Limited - TORRB4 TORRENS ISLAN at 1540 hrs 04/02/2025
Type of resource: generating unit
Required actions: Remain synchronised and follow dispatch targets at 0030 hrs 05/02/2025
Services provided: Voltage Control
Circumstances necessitating the Direction: Voltage
Circumstances necessitating the Direction additional detail: The synchronous generating units currently expected to be synchronised in SA will be inadequate to maintain sufficient Voltage Control in SA. Intervention is required to maintain the power system in a secure operating state
Expected duration: 0400 hrs 06/02/2025 / further notice.

Required actions: Remain synchronised and follow dispatch targets at 0130 hrs 05/02/2025
Services provided: Voltage Control
Circumstances necessitating the Direction: Voltage
Circumstances necessitating the Direction additional detail: The synchronous generating units currently expected to be synchronised in SA will be inadequate to maintain sufficient Voltage Control in SA. Intervention is required to maintain the power system in a secure operating state

The minimum capacity reserve available is 344 MW.

The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1400 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 700 MW.

2. From 1830 hrs to 1930 hrs 07/02/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1400 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 898 MW.
