AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

AEMO declares a Forecast LOR1 condition under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the SA region for the following period:

From 1730 hrs to 2100 hrs 11/02/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 414 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 344 MW.

The Forecast LOR1 condition in the NSW region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 124000 has been updated at 1400 hrs 04/02/2025 to the following:

1. From 1430 hrs to 1700 hrs 07/02/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1400 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 700 MW.

2. From 1830 hrs to 1930 hrs 07/02/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1400 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 898 MW.

AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

The Forecast LOR1 condition in the NSW region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 124059 has been updated at 1420 hrs 04/02/2025 to the following:

[1.] From 1530 hrs 04/02/2025 to 1630 hrs 04/02/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1663 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1277 MW.

[2.] From 1830 hrs 04/02/2025 to 2030 hrs 04/02/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1652 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 974 MW.

NEM Local Temperature Alerts for SA, TAS, VIC from 04 Feb 2025 to 08 Feb 2025

AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

AEMO's weather service provider has issued forecast temperatures equal to or greater than the NEM Local Temperature Alert Levels for listed weather stations below.

SA
Port Augusta Ap (39+ Deg C): 6th Feb

TAS
Launceston Ti Tree Bend (33+ Deg C): 4th Feb

VIC
Latrobe Valley Ap (39+ Deg C): 4th Feb
Mildura Ap (39+ Deg C): 4th Feb, 6th Feb

The NEM Local Temperature Alert Levels are:

Launceston Ti Tree Bend: 33 Deg C, Dalby Airport: 37 Deg C, for all other selected weather stations: 39 Deg C.

AEMO requests Market Participants to:

1. review the weather forecast in the local area where their generating units / MNSP converter stations are located and,

2. if required, update the available capacity in their dispatch offers or availability submissions consistent with the forecast temperatures.

AEMO is not satisfied that this non credible event is unlikely to re-occur.
AEMO has therefore reclassified this event as a credible contingency event until further notice.

Non-credible contingency event - TAS region - 03/02/2025

At 1333 hrs the Farrell - Reece No.1 and No.2 220 kV lines tripped.

AEMO did not instruct load shedding.

AEMO has not been advised of any disconnection of bulk electrical load.

The cause of this non credible contingency event has been identified and AEMO is satisfied that another occurrence of this event is unlikely under the current circumstances.

The cause of this non credible contingency event is not known at this stage.
