The synchronous generating units currently expected to be synchronised in SA from 0000 hrs 24/06/2024 will be inadequate to maintain a secure operating state in SA .
AEMO estimates that, in the absence of sufficient market response by 1630 hrs 23/06/2024, AEMO may need to intervene by issuing a direction requiring one or more SA synchronous generating unit(s) to operate or remain synchronised to maintain power system security in SA.

The synchronous generating units currently expected to be synchronised in SA from 0000 hrs 24/06/2024 will be inadequate to maintain sufficient system strength in SA and hence a secure operating state.
AEMO may need to intervene by issuing a direction requiring one or more SA synchronous generating unit(s) to operate or remain synchronised to maintain power system security in SA.

In accordance with section 116 of the National Electricity Law, AEMO has issued a direction to a participant in the SA region. For the purposes of the National Electricity Rules this is a direction under clause 4.8.9(a).
The direction was necessary to maintain the power system in a secure operating state.
AEMO may issue or revoke additional directions in order to meet the current requirement, unless sufficient market response is provided. A further market notice will be issued when all directions related to this requirement have been cancelled.
The issue of the direction commences an AEMO intervention event. AEMO declares all trading intervals during the event to be intervention trading intervals, commencing from the interval ending 1635 hrs on 22/06/2024.
Intervention pricing does not apply to this AEMO intervention event.

STPASA - Update of the Forecast Lack Of Reserve Level 1 (LOR1) in the NSW Region on 24/06/2024
The Forecast LOR1 condition in the NSW region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 117094 has been updated at 1430 hrs 22/06/2024 to the following:
[1.] From 0630 hrs 24/06/2024 to 0930 hrs 24/06/2024.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1703 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1430 MW.
[2.] From 1600 hrs 24/06/2024 to 2200 hrs 24/06/2024.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1750 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1417 MW.

AEMO estimates that, in the absence of sufficient market response by 1630 hrs 22/06/2024, AEMO may need to intervene by issuing a direction requiring one or more SA synchronous generating unit(s) to operate or remain synchronised to maintain power system security in SA.

AEMO declares a Forecast LOR1 condition under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the NSW region for the following periods:
1. From 0700 hrs to 0830 hrs 24/06/2024.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1750 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1705 MW.
2. From 1630 hrs to 1700 hrs 24/06/2024.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1750 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1707 MW.
3. From 1730 hrs to 1930 hrs 24/06/2024.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1750 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1702 MW.

The capacity reserve requirement is 1726 MW
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1695 MW
