The Forecast LOR2 condition in the NSW region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 112390 has been updated at 1600 hrs 15/12/2023 to the following:

From 1430 hrs to 1600 hrs 19/12/2023.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 730 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 171 MW.

AEMO is seeking a market response.

AEMO estimates that the latest time at which permission can be given for a planned outage to proceed is 0530 hrs on 19/12/2023.

The Forecast LOR1 condition in the NSW region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 112327 has been updated at 1400 hrs 15/12/2023 to the following:

From 1230 hrs to 1430 hrs 19/12/2023.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1370 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 798 MW.

From 1600 hrs to 2030 hrs 19/12/2023.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1415 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1314 MW.

AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE.

Direction - SA region 15/12/2023

In accordance with section 116 of the National Electricity Law, AEMO has issued a direction to a participant in the SA region. For the purposes of the National Electricity Rules this is a direction under clause 4.8.9(a).

The direction was necessary to maintain the power system in a secure operating state.

AEMO may issue or revoke additional directions in order to meet the current requirement, unless sufficient market response is provided. A further market notice will be issued when all directions related to this requirement have been cancelled.

The issue of the direction commences an AEMO intervention event. AEMO declares all trading intervals during the event to be intervention trading intervals, commencing from the interval ending 1450 hrs on 15/12/2023.

Intervention pricing does not apply to this AEMO intervention event.

The synchronous generating units currently expected to be synchronised in SA from 0630 hrs 16/12/2023 will be inadequate to maintain a secure operating state in SA .

AEMO estimates that, in the absence of sufficient market response by 1445 hrs 15/12/2023, AEMO may need to intervene by issuing a direction requiring one or more SA synchronous generating unit(s) to operate or remain synchronised to maintain power system security in SA.

AEMO has entered into a reserve contract to maintain the power system in a Reliable operating state during the following period of time;
15:30 to 19:30 hrs 14/12/2023

The latest time to activate or dispatch these reserves has now passed. No reserve contracts were activated or pre-activated.
