Power of Choice B2B Procedure Working Stream

Power of Choice B2B Procedure Working Group (POC B2B-WG)

During the implementation of the Power of Choice (POC) reforms, AEMO established a Power of Choice ‘Business-to-Business’ Procedure Working Group (POC B2B-WG) to assist in the progress of the POC program of work and deliverables.

Among these was the revision of the B2B Procedures, the oversight of which was managed by the POCB2B-WG. The revised Procedures were finalised on 6 March 2017.

The POC B2B-WG was disbanded following the finalisation of the revised B2B Procedures. Further changes to the Procedures are being overseen by the Business-to-Business Working Group (B2BWG).

Membership

The POC B2B WG consisted of the following members:

• Four retailer members (as nominated by the Australian Energy Council).
• Four distribution network service provider members (as nominated by the Energy Networks Association).
• Four metering members – representing metering coordinators, metering providers and metering data providers (as coordinated by AEMO).
• One AEMO member (Chair).

The following criteria was applicable to all members:

• Detailed knowledge of the subject matter of B2B Procedures, the POC rule changes and relevant provisions of the NER.    
• Experience with, and skills in, considering B2B and retail market businesses and data processes that impact retailers, distribution network service providers and metering providers, respectively.
• Experience with, and skills in, stakeholder consultation processes to support the development and implementation of solutions to market operational issues in a timely manner.
